Our litters are whelped and raised within our home.  We believe the dam and puppies should be safe and warm with an attentive second mother (me) watching nearby, ready to assist if need be.  Early neurological stimulation is performed on the puppies.  ENS is shown to have a positive effect on creating a more stable temperament and to improve performance and working abilities in dogs.  I am present from day one until the puppies go to their new homes around 8 weeks of age.  Since we spend a considerable amount of time with each individual puppy, we like to match the puppies to each selected home based on your wish list (say, sex of pup, color and coat type; curly vs. wavy) and the activity levels of the puppy and the new owners. The breed is NOT a cookie cutter type - they are all individuals with different needs.  Puppies are exposed to a variety of textures, surfaces, noises, socialized with children and other dogs, taken for car rides, outdoor outings, etc.   We like to say our Portuguese Water Dog puppies come to you pre-loved!  We require new owners to keep safely socializing your pup and to take age appropriate classes such as puppy kindergarten and basic obedience.  The kindest act you can do is train your dog to have confidence and be a good canine citizen.  

All puppies come home to you with a written health guarantee, pedigree papers, contract of sale, and numerous training articles in our specialized puppy packet.  We offer life time support to our puppy owners.
